STREET STYLES

Friday's at Bilston Baptist Church

Foundationz (Ages 4-6)

This is where the magic begins. Our Foundationz class is the perfect place for your little dancer to fall in love with street dance. We introduce them to the basic rhythms and foundational steps of breakin', locking, and hip-hop in a fun, high-energy environment. It’s all about building a solid base, gaining confidence, and getting down to the beats.

Stylerz (Ages 7-10)

Ready to find your own groove? Our Stylerz class is the next step. Dancers in this group move past the basics and start to develop their own unique style. We dive deeper into the techniques of breakin', locking, and house, challenging them to experiment with new moves and express their personality. This is where they learn to build on their foundations and truly make the dance their own.

Pioneerz (Ages 11-17)

Welcome to the top tier. Our Pioneerz are the leaders of the school, pushing boundaries and setting the standard. This advanced class focuses on mastering complex choreography and high-level skills in breakin', locking, and house. These dancers are not just learning steps; they're becoming creators, leaders, and artists who are ready to take their passion to the next level.

Tuesday's at Grove Primary School

Street Starz (Ages 4-11)

Get ready to hit the streets and learn some fresh moves in our high-energy Street Styles Dance class for children aged 4-11! This class is an exciting introduction to the diverse world of street dance, where young dancers will explore the foundations of:

Hip Hop: Learn rhythmic footwork, grooves, and dynamic isolations that define this popular style.
Breaking (B-boying/B-girling): Discover the power and athleticism of breaking with freezes, footwork, and top rock.
House: Feel the flow and musicality of house dance, focusing on intricate footwork and body movements.
Locking: Explore the fun and funky movements of locking, characterized by its distinct poses and transitions.

Our Street Styles class is designed to be fun, engaging, and build confidence while developing coordination, rhythm, and self-expression. No prior experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to groove!

CONTEMPORARY

Wednesday's at Bilston People's Centre

Contemporary Dance (Ages 6+)

Unleash your creativity and explore the expressive world of Contemporary Dance! This open-level class is perfect for dancers aged 6 and above, offering a dynamic and engaging environment to learn and grow.

Contemporary dance blends elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance, encouraging fluid movements, emotional expression, and individual artistry. In this class, students will develop:

Strong Technique: Build a solid foundation in contemporary dance techniques, including floor work, inversions, and dynamic transitions.
Improvisation Skills: Discover the freedom of movement through guided improvisation exercises, fostering self-expression and musicality.
Choreographic Exploration: Learn exciting combinations and explore creative movement sequences, enhancing coordination and performance quality.
Physicality and Artistry: Improve flexibility, strength, and body awareness while developing a deeper understanding of artistic expression.

MOVE & MINGLE SEND CLASS

Every 2nd Saturday at Bilston Baptist Church

Move & Mingle (Ages 4-15)

Formerly known as "No Limits SEN Dance & Empowerment," our class will now be called "Move & Mingle."

This class is suitable for students with special educational needs and disabilities aged 4+.

I’ve watched the current students carefully and believe it’s important to embrace the joyful, social atmosphere that has made the class so special. While movement for health and fun remains our top priority, we're also making time for something else everyone loves: mingling and snacks!

Every session will now end with a dedicated snack time, provided by Destiny School Of Dance. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to relax and socialise, and for parents to connect and mingle.

We can't wait to see you all at the next Move & Mingle class, where we'll be moving, playing, and making new friends!
