After graduating from Coventry University in 2002 with a Bachelor of arts degree in dance & professional practice, I went for an interview in Manchester for the role of a freelance dance teacher with a company who exclusively taught dance workshops to school children.

I was successful and begun teaching shortly after. It was like a dream come true. I had previously taught in schools as a supply teacher but now, I was getting the opportunity to do what I loved in the same school setting.

I wasn't the most academic at school and so I excelled in subjects such as drama and music. I was excited to bring dance into schools for those children who also excelled more in performing arts subjects.

I began delivering my dance workshops in of 2002 and before I knew it, I was being contacted by the schools for repeat bookings. Delivering dance workshops was my full time job and I loved it!
